The latter four received $50,000 and a Blackberry Z10 mobile phone each and the top five got between $150,000 and $750,000 in prize money.
BEST POSSIBLE
Nedd, in his brief remarks at the presentation, said GT&T has tried, for over two decades, to provide the best possible mode of communication service to Guyanese.
He said research has shown that countries have improved their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) through the use of Internet technology in development and, as such, Guyana will soon become one among the many.
With the increasing network capability to be experienced by Guyanese in the near future, GT&T will be bringing a number of new technologies and greater Internet speed to homes and businesses, he said.
Nedd mentioned that there will be steep discounts on products which would be on sale at all the business offices of the company and the introduction of the GT&T Dedicate Service Line (DSL) to customers on the New Hope (266) network switch.
The contest, which commenced in 2005, has set the platform for the local musical industry to propel to what was witnessed in the rivalry, he remarked.
Some 1,400 persons auditioned to compete in the three counties across Guyana and all those who won shared yesterday’s joyous moment, Nedd observed.
