IT WAS a forgettable day for another Corentyne School as School of the Nations – N/A edged Winifred Gaskin Memorial School on a quiet Caricom Day at the Scott’s School ground in New Amsterdam.

The match was viewed by a small gathering spread across the ground and even though it got off to a late start, football intensity was ever present, as both teams kept attacking each other’s goal until the final whistle blew at 18:07hrs.
In the end, the victorious School of the Nations prevailed 2-1, with Shaquille Robertelle and Troy Felix scoring the winning goals in the 11th and 79th minutes, while Eon Collins netted the lone goal for the Corentyne side.
In other matches played on the same day, Sophia Training School blanked the Georgetown-based School of the Nations 12-0, North Georgetown edged St George’s 1-0, GITC defeated St Mary’s 5-3, President’s College destroyed Lancaster Secondary 9-1 and Lodge also trounced Queenstown 9-1.   (Michael Khan)
