Justice Brassington Reynolds will this morning rule in a voir dire ( a trial within a trial) in which accused Andrew Gomes is facing trial for the alleged murder of his father, Stanislaus Gomes. The smaller trial began some days ago for the judge to decide an issue of law that had arisen.
The arguments in relation to the issue were completed yesterday afternoon when the judge reserved his ruling to this morning.
Depending on the ruling, the judge will start the substantial trial in which the accused Andrew Gomes is
accused of the murder of his father Stanislaus Gomes on November 27, 2008.
Miss Renita Sigh, Attorney-at-Law of the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions, is prosecuting, while lawyer, Mr. George Thomas, is defending.
