DELWYN Adolph and Josella Roach (no addresses given) appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, charged with unlawful assault.
They pleaded not guilty to individual charges, which alleged that, on June 20, in at Postal Housing Scheme, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, they assaulted each other. Police Corporal, Renetta Bentham, prosecuting, told the court that both Roach and Adolph had gone to make purchases at the same shop that day and an argument arose about who should be attended to first.
The prosecutor had no objection to it and $20,000 bail was granted to each of the defendants.
But, after a short adjournment, attorney-at-law, Mr. Nigel Hughes, representing Roach, informed the court that the parties have decided not to proceed with the case and he apologised for wasting the court’s time.
The two were both made to give sworn testimony before the charges against them were dismissed.
