Health Ministry conducts medical outreach at Hope Orphanage, Enmore

A high-level team of medical professionals from the Ministry of Health visited the Children’s Hope Orphanage at Enmore, East Coast Demerara last Saturday, to conduct its annual general medical check-up of the children and

staff of the orphanage.
Health Minister Dr. Bheri Ramsarran noted that it is always a pleasure to visit the orphanage and render assistance to those less fortunate children and the wonderful people that take care of them.
Dr. Varsha Bachan, Regional Health Officer for Region 4 (Demerara/Mahaica) – led the MoH team that rendered medical check-up on 62 persons, and unearthed the following cases:

Anti-respiratory infections – 44 cases; skin infection – 39 cases; cerebral palsy – 1 case; vaginal infection – 2 cases;  arthritis/joints pain – 2 cases; migraine headache – 4 cases; diabetes mellitus – 2 cases; and deworming – 62 cases.
Meanwhile, a medical team from the Health Ministry also conducted an eye testing & dental screening outreach at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints in Prashad Nagar, Georgetown on June 13 last, and the following services were rendered: Prophylaxes/cleaning – 30 cases; extractions – 4 cases, and fillings – 10 cases. A total of 42 patients were seen.
