Fraudulent activities within the Zorg En Vlugt/Riverstown NDC

I wish to bring to the attention of  President  Donald Ramotar of  the malevolent use of resources and the clear collusion among  a  Zorg En Vlugt/Riverstown Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) Chairman  and  Guyana Times  reporter  on the Essequibo Coast.

Kindly note that the misuse  of the President’s  Enhancement Programme money for the cleaning of drains continues almost uninhibited for the past two years  by the Zorg En Vlugt / Riverstown NDC,  and the reporter who is not an employee or a contractor of the NDC.
At a juncture when all efforts should be concentrated on stamping out corruption and boosting government and party policies since the 1992 ‘dawn of a new era’efforts are contritely underway to accumulate personal wealth by this newspaper reporter whose name is on the payroll and every month would draw down a hefty sum of money from the President’s Enhancement Programme funds.
The latest in a series of questionable transactions of  her  name appearing  on the NDC payroll of  the President’s Enhancement  Programme  through the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, according to inside sources, this is a regular practice by a gang within the NDC  and the reporter  to defraud the government coffers. The intention of the criminal incitement was to share the money among themselves. What transpired at the NDC is now well known to all Essequibians.
A secretariat for the Enhancement Fund was established by the Ministry of Local Government to look at transparency and the Regional Development Officer was elected to perform the duty as co-ordinator for overlooking  payment of the funds.
Opposition Councillors also revealed that when they learnt about the fraud, it was reported at the Regional Democratic Council’s statutory meeting but to date no investigation took place, nor was the police called in to act on the alleged fraud. The councillors suggested to the Regional Chairman at the meeting that the police should be called in to investigate this corruption at the NDC but it fell on deaf ears.
The councillors warned the Regional Chairman that one of the greatest dangers confronting us today is the growing belief that the President’s Enhancement Fund is so manipulated by the NDC and the workings of the local government system, it will virtually be impossible to correct without the President’s intervention.
