Haddin ton puts Australia A in control

CAPTAIN Brad Haddin made a century as Australia A recovered from a slow start to reach 335 for six at the end of the first day of their four-day tour match against Scotland in Edinburgh. The tourists were reduced to 23 for two after Jordan Silk (four) was caught at second slip by Preston Mommsen off the bowling of Gordon Goudie and Alex Doolan (14) was bowled by Iain Wardlaw.

Usman Khawaja and Steven Smith put on 42 for the third wicket before Smith was dismissed by Calum MacLeod, while Khawaja went on to make 51 before becoming Wardlaw’s second victim with the score on 138.
The dismissal of Moises Henriques for 20 left Australia on 171 for five, but Haddin and Peter Siddle combined for a partnership of 118 before Haddin was caught behind off the bowling of Moneeb Iqbal. Haddin’s 113 came from 157 balls with 12 fours and two sixes.
Siddle was 85 not out from 128 balls at the close with James Pattinson unbeaten on nine. (PA Sport)
