THE Ministry of Finance’s procurement symposium will be hosted today and was not scheduled for yesterday as had been inadvertently published by the Guyana Chronicle in yesterday’s edition.

This publication wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
The activity will in fact be held today at the Guyana International Conference Centre and targets local contractors, consultants as well as service and other suppliers.
According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Finance the “procurement symposium provides a forum for comprehensive information sharing in relation to procurement laws, regulations and procedures allowing for greater levels of fairness, transparency and accountability.”
