RESPONDING to an article carried in our last Sunday’s publication, Attorney-at-law, Charles Ramson (jr) has lashed out against Miss Guyana India Worldwide Pageant franchise holder Chandini Rambalack’ s claim that while there have been reports of her being sued by Miss India Worldwide 2012, Alana Seebarran, the professed lawsuit against her for $50 M is ‘nonexistent.’
In Sunday’s article, Mrs. Rambalack had declared that Mr. Charles Ramson’s implication – in his talking to the press – that the matter is sub-judice is misleading since she has so far not been served with any writ. She added that this was supposed to be a fact he should be aware of since he, claims to be a competent attorney.
Responding in an interview last week Mr. Ramson noted that Ms. Rambalack is certainly not a trained attorney and therefore should have been advised by her lawyers that she should refrain from making statements outside of her competency.
He further stated that Ms. Rambalack is in no position to comment on his competency as a lawyer, adding that the court proceedings could be live and active without her being served a writ.
Mr. Ramson submitted receipts to the Guyana Chronicle and a copy of the writ that was prepared which he said proves that the proceedings were active since May 2, 2013.
A previous article carried in this newspaper Miss India Worldwide 2012, had dictated that Alana Seebarran was suing Ms. Rambalack and her sister Lucria at the point of some $50 M for failing to discharge contractual and fiduciary duties owed to her (Alana Seebarran) and for impersonation.
In her response to that article Ms. Rambalack said that the full extent of her response will be made public after consulting with the Miss India Worldwide franchise holder and her lawyers.
Ms. Rambalack had also said that having already dealt with the issue of allegations of impersonation six months ago, (six months during which Ms. Seebarran chose not to initiate any legal proceedings against her), and cannot reasonably be expected to address this once again. She, however, stated that if it comes to that, she is more than ready and willing to confront the issue.
She also said that Ms. Seebarran and Mr. Ramson are well aware of the full facts of her tenure as Miss India Guyana/Worldwide, facts that she has kept out of the public domain out of respect for the franchise of which she is the owner, respect for Ms. Seebarran, and in the interest of putting sad incidents behind her. She also declared that the article initiated by Mr. Ramson and Ms Seebarran was a campaign to stain herself and her business, and should it continue, she will have no choice but to present such facts openly in a court of law or in the court of public opinion.
Ms. Rambalack had also opined that Ms. Seebarran is receiving advice and guidance that is not in her best interest, and not true to her character.
