Trio arrested with invalid $6M cheque

POLICE, on Thursday, acting on information received, arrested three men about 15:00 hrs at a business place in Broad Street, Georgetown, when they tendered an invalid bank cheque. The trio had intended to use the sum of $6M to pay for a quantity of building materials they had ordered, the Police said.
A release said, so far, the Police have received reports of two business places being scammed, of some $5M, in a similar manner.
The men held remain in custody assisting with the investigations.
