TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Sherwin Trotman, of Lot 45 Section ‘D’ South Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, was sentenced to 56 months imprisonment yesterday, on conviction for robbery.
Police prosecutor Jomo Nichols said the victim, Nicola Nedd, is an overseas-based Guyanese who was on vacation when she was robbed on Sunday, February 17, at West Ruimveldt, in the city.
It happened shortly after her arrival from the airport when her handbag, containing two diamond bracelets, three gold bracelets, two gold chains, one Ipad, two pairs of sunglasses and US$2,500, making her total loss G$1,204,000.
Trotman maintained his innocence but was found guilty as charged by Magistrate Judy Latchman.
