OSWALD Matthews alias ‘Bruk up’ faced two charges before Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday.
The indictable charge said the 35-year-old accused, of Lot 69 Robb Street, Georgetown, on May 9, being armed with a cutlass, robbed Mohamed Ali of $105,000 and a cell phone valued $5,000.
Matthews, however, pleaded not guilty to the other offence, particulars of which said, on May 12, in Robb Street, he broke and entered the dwelling house of the same Ali and stole a table piano, cash and other articles, making a total loss of $247,500 to the virtual complainant.
Police Sergeant Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for Matthews because she said he is known to Ali whom he has robbed twice.
The father of two was remanded to prison until June 4.
