The Amerindian community of Mashabo located some five miles from the public road at Huis’t Diren village on the Essequibo Coast has a population of very healthy people.
Vice Chairman of Region Two Mr. Samaroo in responding to several questions raised by APNU councillor Mr. Prince Shepherd at Tuesday’s statutory meeting on development in Amerindian communities said Mashabo is a growing and developed community which has a population of some 400 with only one person suffering with the diabetic disease.
Mr. Samaroo said the APNU councillor should note the healthy state of citizens caused by up to date Medical services that are provided free by Government and fresh food grown by residents with technical assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture
