A 54-year-old grand-father, Collin Marks, of West Bury, Essequibo Coast was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Sunil Scarce in the Charity court for having sex with his eight-year-old grand-daughter. The court was told that the labourer took his grand-daughter in a bedroom on May 7, took off her underwear and inserted his penis in her vagina and had sex with her.
The grand-father who was not required to plead was charged with having sexual activity with a child of a family. He will make another appearance in court on 10 June.
