First Lady interacts with mothers …from Enterprise-Bare Root housing area

FIRST Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar yesterday, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, visited and interacted with mothers from the Enterprise-Bare Root housing area at the Enterprise Community Centre, East Coast Demerara.

altSpeaking to the media, Mrs. Ramotar said that the members of her foundation, the First Lady’s Foundation, in relation to the promotion of positive family values decided to visit the women of the area to find out what issues they are faced with and to help them find solutions.
According to her, if there are any issues that these women are faced with and the foundation cannot assist, they can then be directed to various governmental institutions.
Addressing the mothers of this area, the First Lady wished them all a happy Mother’s Day and highlighted the important role a mother plays in the life of a child.alt
“Today we are observing Mother’s Day, a day to reflect on the values of our mothers and the love they have given and the lessons they’ve taught us. The members of the First Lady’s Foundation have agreed that we should spend some quality time with mothers in this area,” she said.
Mrs. Ramotar told the mothers gathered on the occasion about the unyielding love of a mother, which is demonstrated by an equally unceasing devotion to the well being, protection and care of her child.
“It is a great gift that women alone are blessed with, and it’s a gift that should be cherished, and on days like today, altacknowledged in tangible gestures,” she pointed out.
The First Lady said that the female members of the foundation understand and appreciate the many sacrifices that a mother makes to protect and provide for her children, and both the male and female members embrace with deep love, affection and concern all mothers of Guyana.alt
“We trust that you will all find contentment on this day, secure in the knowledge that you did and are continuing to do your duty, the satisfaction of which is the only reward you ever ask for,” she stated.
Mrs. Ramotar interacted with the mothers present on the occasion and spoke to them about those pressing issues which they are faced with, and also distributed gifts and refreshments.
