Courts donates $300,000 towards Dharmic Sabha shelter – facility to house vulnerable women and children

COURTS Guyana Inc. yesterday donated $300,000 to the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha to assist with their construction of a shelter for vulnerable women and children.

altThe Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha launched its campaign “Voices against Child Abuse” in April 2010, which signaled the organisation’s commitment to supporting and helping children and women who are victims of abuse.
Handing over the cheque on behalf of Courts was Marketing Manager, Pernell Cummings who said that Courts is always pleased to help organisations that are geared towards eradicating social illnesses in the society, especially when children are involved.
Receiving the cheque was chairman of the fundraising committee of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha, Raj Singh who expressed thanks to Courts for the donation, noting that it will go a long way.
The shelter will cost approximately $70M and will be built at Port Mourant, Corentyne.
