MARLEY Fordyce, 20, of Lot 24 Norton Street, Wortmanville, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, yesterday, charged with unlawful and malicious wounding. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on Wednesday, May 1, in Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Sherry Ann Rahaman.
Police Sergeant Ramsahoye Rambajue, prosecuting, told the Court that, the defendant is the virtual complainant’s ex-boyfriend and, that day, the current couple was at her home when the Fordyce showed up unannounced.
The prosecutor said, because Rahaman refused to speak to him, Fordyce became annoyed and dealt her a few punches about her body, resulting in her left eye being swollen.
However, attorney-at-law Mr. Paul Fung-a-Fat, for the defendant, said Rahaman does not wish to offer evidence against Fordyce and the case was dismissed.
