COURTS Guyana Inc. yesterday opened up a sensational two-day ‘Appliance Event’ at its headquarters on Main Street, Georgetown, during which a wide array of top-of-the line electrical appliances were showcased and amazing promotions announced.
Among the big promotions announced were:
* The Whirpool promotion which gives four customers a chance to win free groceries for one year, amounting to US$2,000. They will be given vouchers which allow them each to shop groceries to the value of $33,000 per month at a leading supermarket of their choice. So says Courts Marketing Manager, Pernell Cummings. The promotion started on April 1 and ends on May 12, 2013.
* The TCL Promotion – where one of 8 lucky persons buying TCL televisions, 72 inches or over, could win tickets for two to Trinidad to see ‘Iron Man III’, a new movie in the Movietown Cinema. It’s an all expenses paid package, and covers return travel ticket cost, airport tax, land transportation and hotel expenses including food and accommodation.
* Serta Embrace Surprise Mattress Promotion: Where one from among the first 25 persons entering the store at 7:00hrs today and purchasing a mattress, will get an opportunity to win a free Serta Embrace Mattress of any size: King Size, Queen Size or Double Size.
Much excitement was generated among shoppers when the marketing manager introduced the wide range of products on sale and announced details of special promotions being offered.
Items on display and for which big bargains are at stake, range from small appliances to large ones including blenders, mixers, kettles, coffee makers, pressure cookers, skillets, and other kitchen utensils. The items come in brand names such as: Hamilton Beach, Cuisinart and Oster.Meanwhile, large electrical appliances creating quite a stir, and for which shoppers showed a keen interest, were Whirlpool refrigerators, gas stoves, washing machines, electrical driers, microwaves and much more.
The event which continues today, was massively supported and COURTS had in place professionals who conducted demonstrations in the use, care and in some cases – minor repairs to some of the products, for the benefit of the shoppers.
Some lucky customers benefitted from a free hair style as part of the demonstration on how to use the hair driers and curling irons advertised. Others still, were treated to free samples of delicious yummy snacks, including sponge cake, muffins, brownies, pancakes from demonstration corners which showcased items such as stoves/ovens, blenders, mixers.
Partnering with COURTS in the demonstration booths were representatives of Carnegie School of Home Economics, Bounty (Bryden and Fernandes) X-pressions Hair Salon; El Doraro Rum and others.
