MS. VIOLA Shaw, Guyana’s latest centenarian, received a generous gift from Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated in celebration of her 100thbirth anniversary, on Wednesday, 17th April, 2013. The resident of the Holy Family Home on Cemetery Road, Wortmanville, Georgetown thanked Almighty God for her longevity, and said she felt blessed. Ms. Shaw said she has always worked hard, and, despite her advancing years, can still cook and wash for herself.
All of her relatives live abroad, and she is forever thankful to Ms. Lilieth Clemonds who takes care of her.
Food for the Poor consistently contributes to the welfare of residents of the Holy Family and Ladies of Charity homes, located in the same compound.
