Police unearth unlicensed AK-47 rifle at Buckhall : – investigating shooting death of farmer on Linden Highway

POLICE manning a checkpoint at 70 Miles, Buckhall, on Tuesday at about 23:10 hrs, searched a truck and found an unlicensed AK-47 rifle with 12 rounds of ammunition. The 11 men in the motor vehicle have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.

And in a separate incident, police are said to be investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Bilaal Peters, 33, a farmer of Madewini on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, whose body was found in his home, at about 15:15 hours on April 16, with a gunshot wound to his head.

A .32 revolver with four live rounds and a spent shell were recovered at the scene. (Michel Outridge)
