According to the new GFF boss, attending the Congress affords the opportunity to meet with the top officials of the Region so as to have a better understanding as to what is expected in the execution of the governance of football.
During the Congress four outstanding individuals of the Region will be inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ of CONCACAF. Ariel Avardo of Panama and Joseph Ursulet of Martinique become the first of their respective country to be inducted, while Lincoln ‘Happy’ Sutherland is the third Jamaican to join the elite club. The other inductee is Mexican Jesus Martinez.
In his absence vice-president Raulston Adams will act as head of the GFF which held its first executive meeting yesterday at the Headquarters in Section ‘K’, Campbellville.
In an invited comment on the first meeting president Matthias stated, “It was most energising as all are eager and ready to meaningfully work towards the development of the game and that indeed is a positive start.”
The only member missing at the first executive meeting was committee member Vanessa Dickenson, who was unavoidably absent due to work commitment.
The new GFF executive also met with the staff of the Federation’s office prior to their meeting yesterday morning.
