POLICE have detained a suspect in their investigations of an armed robbery at the home of a businesswoman at Williamsburg, Corentyne, Berbice, on Monday. The woman, Seena Nauth, 28, had just returned to the house, about 13:30hrs, when three masked men barged in through an open door.
Two of the intruders were armed with handguns and the trio took away $498,000 cash and a quantity of jewellery, with which they escaped.
Police said, as the crime was being committed, Nauth pulled off the mask that one of the men was wearing and the man, who was subsequently arrested at Rose Hall, Corentyne, remains in custody.
