Crime Chief Seelall Persaud said that Joseph had a domino competition at his house where he operates a thriving club and there was a power outage and the patrons left at about 23:40hrs.
The Deputy Commissioner added that it was then that Joseph exited his yard and was about to park his car which was in front of his house when he was shot and killed.
Persaud stated that the man’s wife, Faye Joseph, heard explosions and when she went to enquire she saw her mortally wounded husband lying on the road.
The Crime Chief said that Joseph was relieved of a gold chain and a gold band but no motive for the homicide had been established as yet.
Up to press time, no arrests were made and there was reportedly no eyewitnesses but police re-visited the crime scene yesterday and have interviewed several persons including the man’s wife, among others.
The well-known businessman was conveyed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
