The People’s Man

Cries flourished in unruffled silence
Crimsoned eyes atop soaked cheeks
A land echoed in disbelief
Acceptance forced unwillingly

Boundaries unseen, endless streamed
Stretched from light into dark
Seeking the reality, drenched hearts stared
As infallible he lay

Oh comrade who rose
Mighty as sun
Battling darkness
For light now hung

Oh father, courageously
My wellbeing you cradled
A blissful now I am moulded
A child with gratitude ceaseless

Oh countryman, defiantly
In despair, you beaconed
Burrowing adversities
Cascading barriers to grateful ground

Oh friend, brows sodden
Skin ajar as fabric reddened
Cages of solitude a harsh reward
Spirit untouched, will unwavered

Oh thinker, my shackles you fell
Oh inspirer, my future you carved
Oh brother, my worth you restoreth
Oh son, my destiny you nurtured

Oh land, my echoes now on ear
Oh soldier, my being now in eye
For I am me only of you
Oh man of people, my freedom you birth
