THE Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) has released its Under-15 squad selected to represent the County at the next Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-15 Inter-county tournament scheduled to be played shortly.
However, missing from the squad is 13-year-old Demerara Cricket Club opener Raymond Perez, who faced disciplinary action from his former club Georgetown Cricket Club sometime last month.
When contacted for a comment on Perez’s non-inclusion Honorary Secretary of the GCB Anand Sanasie said Perez has served his penalty and following his non-inclusion in the Demerara squad, will turn out for the President’s XI.
Bhaskar Yadram has been tasked with the responsibility of leading the Demerara lineup which includes Clevon McEwen, Ronaldo Mohammed, Timothy McAlmont, Ashmead Nedd and the diminutive wrist-spinner Sajur Hetheramani.
The Demerara squad reads: Bhaskar Yadram (captain), Ronaldo Mohamed (vice-captain), Clevon McEwan, Timothy Mc Almont, Jaddel McAllister, Sagar Hetheramani, Ashmead Nedd, Colin Barlow, Bhojnarine Singh, Kelvin Sheoprashad, Paul Thomas, Afzal Rahaman, Dhanram Samaroo and Stephan Campbell.
The standby players are: Andrew Clifford, Vickram Talmakund and Kheshram Seyhodan and former first class off-spinner Gavin Nedd will handle the responsibilities of coaching the team, while Medha Dhanpaul will serve as manager and all players are requested to turn up at the DCC ground tomorrow morning at 08.00hrs.
