I PRAY this letter gets published. I happened to travel with a taxi for a short distance on March, 28, 2013, during the drive (it was around 10:30 hrs – to-10:38 hrs on the said date), the radio was on at frequency 89.1 FM where a call-in programme was being aired. What was the name of the programme, and who was the host, I do not know as I was only in the vehicle for approximately eight minutes.

During that time of travel, one person called and stated on the programme, “…Hinduism is crap…there is God and Goddess… but I know God …is only Jesus Christ…”
Editor, is this not a direct disrespect to Hinduism and Hindus? I wonder if there is any tolerance for other faiths, given that such a call was made on a live programme, and adding to the insult, the host did not even seek to stop the caller or even make any statement of whether same is tolerated on live radio.
Moving even further, I wish to register how shocked, hurt, and depressed indeed I was to have heard the aforesaid. My entire day was anomalous. I can only imagine how other Hindus, listening to the programme must have felt.
I hope whoever the host of the said programme was, the radio station’s management, and surely the caller will see this letter. Therefore, I demand that each of the above parties (whoever they are, I don’t know) apologise to the Hindu populace.
Religious intolerance is so much alive.
