Eleven petitioners granted $2.3M bail pending hearing of cases

ACTING Chief Justice Mr. Ian Chang on Friday granted bail in the sum of $2.3M to 11 persons pending their trials for narcotics and other offences, including robbery-under-arms and rape.    The particulars of the bailees are as follows: For the offence of trafficking in narcotics, Dudley Bascom was granted $300,000 bail; Eric Nedd, $200,000 bail; and Lance Walters, $200,000 bail.

For the offence of robbery-under-arms, Delroy Fredericks was granted $150,000 bail; Dwight Canzius, $150,000 bail; and Rondell Tappin, $400,000 bail.

For the offence of rape of a child under 16, Edmond Milling was granted $175,000 bail.

For the offence of break-and-enter and larceny, Frank Thomas was granted $400,000 bail; and Edwin Miles was granted $100,000 bail.             

For the offence of setting fire to a building, Andrew Ramroop was granted $200,000 bail; and for the offence of assault, Norman Everton Straughn was granted bail in the sum of $25,000.
