AMBASSADOR Robby D. Ramlakhan, Secretary General of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organisation (ACTO), yesterday paid a courtesy call on Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Robert Persaud, to discuss sustainable development. Discussions during the meeting were centred on the integration and strengthening of collaboration between Guyana and other Latin American countries towards the development of Guyana’s natural resources and environmental sectors.
Guyana already has strong ties with Latin American countries from previous partnerships, and would welcome support to further strengthen areas of cooperation, said Minister Persaud.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General views Guyana as an emerging country in the area of natural resources and sustainable development.
