THE Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Michel Joseph Martelly, the President of Haiti, will pay an official visit to the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown from today to Friday. President Martelly will hold discussions with CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and his executive management team on Thursday at the Secretariat’s Turkeyen headquarters. On that day he will also meet with the staff of the Secretariat.
The president, who will be accompanied by Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry, will also hold discussions with President Donald Ramotar and his Cabinet.
President Martelly, who was elected President of Haiti in 2011, assumed the chairmanship of CARICOM on January 1, 2013, and will serve in that capacity until June 30, 2013.
