CHRISTOPHER Da Costa, of Lot 73 Princes Street and Rayon Edinboro, of Lot 74 Princes Street, both in Lodge, Georgetown, were remanded to prison yesterday on a joint break and enter and larceny charge.
They appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, between February 2 and 4, they broke an entered the business place of El Dorado Communications and stole G$10M, a safe valued G$66,000, US$10,000 and three laptop computers worth G$270,000, property of Tyrone Williams.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, made a successful objection to bail for the duo, based on the seriousness of the allegation.
He said the defendants were seen leaving the business place.
Defence Counsel Paul Fung-a-Fat argued, though, that the defendants were not placed on an identification parade.
The case was transferred to another court where the prisoners will make their next appearance on March 27.
