President Donald Ramotar and First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar were among persons gathered at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Brickdam last evening for a memorial service in honour of the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who succumbed on March 5 after a long battle with cancer.

Also present at the event were Venezuelan Ambassador to Guyana Reina Margarita Arratia Diaz, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett; Housing and Water Irfaan Ali, Finance (Junior) , Juan Edghill; and Home Affairs, Clement Rohee.
