Ansa McAl/Tropical Rhythms Beach Volleyball Classic set for Easter Monday

IN ITS continuing efforts to assist in youth development and the promotion of sports, Ansa McAl recently handed over a sponsorship cheque to the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) for its ‘Tropical Rhythms Beach Volleyball Classic’ which is billed for Number 63 Beach, Corentyne on Easter Monday.

The cheque was handed over by Mark Bhikai, the Berbice Regional Manager of Ansa McAl, to Godwyn Allicock, treasurer of the BVA, following which Bhikai said they will make the event an annual one with next year’s sponsorship bigger and better.
BVA president, Gregory Rambarran  thanked the Company for its sponsorship and said the tournament, which is expected to attract over 30 teams, will be an extremely exciting event featuring some of Guyana’s most talented players.
The tourney will be played on a luck-of-the-draw knockout basis on at least two courts that will be set up in the vicinity of the Ansa McAl Benab and the first-, second- and third-place finishers will receive trophies and cash incentives.
The action is set to serve off at 10:00hrs.
