Little Terriann recovering well after open-heart surgery

EIGHT-year-old Terriann Wright, a heart patient, had a successful open-heart surgery in the United States in January this year, and is well on the road to recovery.

altAccording to her mother, Gillian Henry, Terriann’s surgery would have been almost impossible had it not been for the sponsorship of Digicel Guyana and assistance of the Demerara Rotary Club.
She is grateful for the assistance, and is happy that her daughter is her usual spritely self again, having had open-heart surgery for atrial septal defect (ASD), commonly known as ‘hole in the heart’, on January 15, 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee,  USA.
The Mae’s Primary School pupil was born with congenital heart disease, and was diagnosed in February 2011 during a visit to the doctor, after she had the flu.
Gillian Henry told the Guyana Chronicle that Terriann’s recovery following the surgery is a miracle. The intervention of God was also responsible, because, since Terriann’s condition had been diagnosed, she began seeking assistance for the child’s surgery, and was elated when Digicel Guyana stepped in and rendered much-needed assistance by providing the air fare to the US for herself and daughter, so she could go for the surgery.
Terriann is the third of three siblings, and has since returned to school, even attending Sunday school; and is very much in tune with everything, just like a normal eight-year-old, playing and doing almost everything.
On Digicel Guyana’s sixth anniversary celebrations this year, on Valentine’s Day, Terriann was presented goodies by a Digicel team who visited her at home. Her mother said the gesture was much appreciated and welcomed, and her daughter was very happy to have been visited by the Digicel team.
