LORRY driver Richard Jones, 50, pleaded not guilty to two traffic offences when he appeared before Magistarte Zamilla Ali at Vigilance Court, on Monday, March 4. Particulars of the offences said, on Friday, February 1, at Lusignan Public Road, also on East Coast Demerara, he drove GPP 6214 without due care and attention and failed to observe an identification mark.
The defendant claimed, however, that he was proceeding when another vehicle, approaching from the opposite direction, flashed its high beam lights causing him to lose his vision and result in his seemingly erratic driving.
Jones, of Lot 337 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was put on $30,000 bail for the careless driving charge and $10,000 on the other, until the cases are called, again, on April 18.
