QUASIE Benn, 43, of Lot 150 ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore, at Sparendaam Court, East Coast Demerara, yesterday, charged with unlawful wounding.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on Thursday, September 2012; he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Sandra Bowen.
Cadet Officer Fredella Boyce, prosecuting, stated that, the virtual complainant (VC) was taking a bath and heard her son telling the defendant not to chase him with a knife.
She came out of the bathroom and an argument started between her and Benn and she was wounded when she held on to the hand in which he had the knife, the prosecutor said.
Benn was put on $15,000 bail until March 19.
