Two charged with $332,000 theft from Popeye’s

AN EMPLOYEE of Popeye’s Chicken and Seafood and a contractor appeared in court yesterday, charged with stealing money from the fast food business.

Mackaela Meseres, 28, of Lot 105 South Sophia and Shawn Reid, 48, of Lot 925 South Sophia, both in Greater  Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Particulars of the offence said, on February 22, they stole $332,000 belonging to Popeye’s.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, had no objection to it but requested substantial bail and the defendants were each ordered to post $200,000 until March 6.
