FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD pedal cyclist Zani Munroe, of Liverpool Village, Corentyne, is the latest person to be killed on the roadway in Berbice after she was crushed by a sand truck yesterday. According to reports, Munroe was struck by truck GLL8938 while it was reportedly overtaking another truck. The accident occurred around 15:30hrs and those who rushed to the scene said the victim was crushed from the waist down. She reportedly died on her way to hospital.
The driver, Rajendra Bisram, 24, of 253 Bush Lot Village, Corentyne, is in custody assisting with investigations.
The deceased was the second of three girls born to Selton Munroe and his reputed wife, Gwen Tapin.
