Murder accused committed for High Court trial

JOEL Ferrier (no address given) was, yesterday, committed to stand trial in the High Court for murder. Magistrate Leron Daley ruled that there was sufficient evidence against the accused, who is charged with the October 7, 2012 killing of Brian Assanah at Light and Fourth Streets, Alberttown, Georgetown.
Police Superintendent Fazil Karimbaksh prosecuted the case and called seven witnesses.
It is alleged that Assanah was trying to assist the police to apprehend Ferrier when the latter fatally stabbed him on the neck.
