East Coast Guinness Greatest of the Street ends tomorrow

JUST one night of action remains before the East Coast Guinness Greatest of the Street Champions are crowned as the competition is set to culminate tomorrow at the Buxton Playfield Tarmac.

The final four teams that have the chance to claim the title after wins on Wednesday night at the Haslington Market Square are Plaisance, BV A, Victoria Church Yard United and Melanie.
In Wednesday’s quarterfinal round, Plaisance were the first to progress with a one-nil win over Beterverwagting B then BV A secured a spot in the final after beating Buxton A by that same margin.
In the final two games of the night, the Church Yard team and Melanie both won by 2-0 margins against Paradise and Victoria Eagles, respectively.
Tomorrow, Plaisance will engage in battle with BV A from 20.00hrs then Victoria Church Yard United tackle Melanie at 20:45hrs. The winners of the two matches will go on to battle for top honours in the final later in the night while the losers will battle for third place.
Meanwhile, Warren Gilkes was the lone scorer for Plaisance against BV B and Reon Hopkinson scored the golden goal for BV A against Buxton A.
The third game of the night saw Horace Graham (11th) and Rolex Gouveia (19th) find the back of the net for Church Yard United against Paradise.
Finally Melanie A had their goals from Jermaul George (3rd) and Sherman Fraser (25th) to sink Victoria Eagles.
