The Ministry of Education’s Unit of Allied Arts, yesterday, staged the Calypso and Dramatic Poetry segment of the National Finals of the Children’s Mashramani Competition 2013 at the National Cultural Centre (NCC).
Primary and Secondary students representing their respective regions displayed their talents to a packed auditorium of parents, teachers and colleagues, hoping to get the judges’ nod with their performances.
Those judging the calypso segment of the competition were Clyde Thierens, Tennecia De Freitas and Claudith Thompson, and the panel for the dramatic poetry segment comprised Randolph Critchlow, Desiree Edghill and Rochelle Christie.
The sponsors for the competition include the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company Limited (GT&T), Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), Jermins Enterprises and COURTS (Guyana) Incorporated.
