The acting CEO related that the topics for discussion had been carefully selected, and are very relevant to the organization. He explained that the session was expected to be a very interactive one, which even has an element of group work.

He also urged the workshop attendees to raise any issues which may be bothering them relative to the topic, so that those issues could be fully discussed and resolved.
Meanwhile, workshop facilitator Dr. Rovin Deodat, while presenting an overview of the day’s session, highlighted the importance of communication in an organization and in everyday life. According to him, “Communication is the fuel upon which social interaction works.” He also called communication both a skill and a science.

Dr. Deodat noted that the first workshop was based on organizational communication, and would examine this within GO-Invest, and further provide recommendations for improving the organizational communication within the organization.

The objectives of yesterday’s workshop were to identify and define the various forms of organizational communication within an agency; to identify the roles and responsibilities of various divisions and employees in different forms of organizational communication; to examine current forms of organizational communication within GO-Invest, and assess their effectiveness; and to discuss improvements on current practices, and suggest additional or new approaches to organizational communication within GO-Invest.
