RESIDENTS of Patentia New Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara, now have easier access to and from their community since the new $5, 031, 703 road was completed and they have expressed gratitude to the Government for fulfilling their request.
The new road which was completed late last year was constructed by Bardon Construction and it was commissioned by Regional Chairman Julius Faerber yesterday.
Faerber in his address said that the new road is one of several that the community is slated to benefit from this year.
“As a government we are here to serve all our people, to ensure that their needs and aspirations are met…all of our policies and programmes are directed toward the upliftment of people’s lives,” he noted.
Faerber also urged residents to ensure that the road is properly utilised and cared for. “What I have seen here today is an amazing show of how an investment in infrastructure can transform the lives of people…this is what we should celebrate,” he noted.
Andy Sampson, a resident, expressed gratitude to the government and the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) for the investments made in her area, while Meline Henry also showered praise for the construction of the new road as the old one was in a bad state.
