MAGISTRATE Judy Latchman, yesterday, ordered a man to perform community services after he was convicted of narcotic possession.
Plumber Shawn Lashley, of Lot 164 Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara, pleaded guilty to a charge which said, on Friday, January 25, at Charlotte and Wellington Streets, Georgetown, he was found with five grammes of cannabis sativa (marijuana).
Lashley was fined $3,000 and also has to do community service for 15 consecutive Saturdays, excluding national holidays, at Brickdam Police Station.
He is to start from Saturday, February 2 at 09:00 hrs and report back to the court on March 7.
