Dutchin, Coates among Soca Monarch Crown hopefuls

FIVE times Road March King and Three times  Carib Soca Monarch Adrian Dutchin is among the many hopefuls vying for the latter crown. He has several hot titles to his belt but will he be able to dethrone the reigning Soca Monarch, Jomo Primo? We will have to wait and see.
Dutchin will have to take scores of seasoned faces, many of whom have already vowed to take home the 2013 crown.
Added to that, he will have to battle the likes of twelve steamy newcomers who are all set to rake in a spot amongst the top three or run off with the title, too.
Guess it will be quite a tedious task for the Kross Kolor artiste to rip the crown from the hands of so many determined contenders this year.
However, Dutchin is ‘hyped and ready’ as he declared and is ready to take his act to the extreme as he remained “poised with fangs unsheathed” to demolish all the other contestants.

Hell fire
If there is anybody ready to reign hell fire in this competition, it is Dutchin. Carib Soca Monarch competitors watch out. The soca tornado is headed in your direction.
Dutchin hopes to win with his entry ‘Jook’, which he deems as pulsating, catchy and very aggressive.
Meanwhile Quacy Coates (Avalanche) will energize the arena with his song ‘Work It’, as he declared in a recent interview with this newspaper.
‘Work It’ which Coates dubs as the ‘song of the night’ is specially dedicated to ‘all de independent ladies’ as he chooses to put it. This song is a tribute to the independent ladies in the offices, on guard duty, vending at the markets, or tending to children in their homes.
The song, according to Coates, is a refresher to motivate the ‘single ladies’ to exhale, throw cares aside and have fun musically.
More of a DJ than an artiste, ‘Avalanche’, as he prefers to be called, promises to blaze a scorching trail at the Carib Soca Monarch 2013. He maintained that his intended ‘spitfire performance’ would not be matched or surpassed by any other competitor.
