FOLLOWING an impromptu visit to the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) over the weekend, Head-of-State President Donald Ramotar congratulated the association and called for unity in the sport. The association held its meeting at the Sleep In Hotel on Brickdam, where the President also stated that the GFA should strive for excellence and to aid in the development of the world’s most popular sport.
Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Major Vernon Burnett was re-elected as president of the GFA with the other executives being Lavern Fraser-Thomas (vice-president, Administration), Mark Philips (vice-president, Competitions), Rawle Adams (vice-president, Technical & Tactical), Christopher Mathias (General Secretary), Dexter Schultz (treasurer) and Charmaine Wade (assistant secretary treasurer).
