Corporate Advocate rebrands self for greater training role

CONSULTANCY firm Corporate Advocate has rebranded itself Vertex Inc. and will be opening an educational institute for Private Sector members.

altThe announcement was made at a press conference last Friday, when it’s Chairman, Mr. Gary Thompson said they are, currently, considering three locations and in negotiation with stakeholders, which should conclude by this weekend.
He said Vertex Educational Institute will be one with a difference, as the plan is to synchronise in-house or classroom training with exposure and a prolonged mentorship system that will ensure participants are in a position to apply academic principles in the real world of doing business.
Thompson said Vertex is designed to be Guyana’s premier Private Sector innovation incubator hub.
“Our key focus is centred on training, exposure and mentorship that will enable macro, small or medium size enterprises to become stronger,” he said.
The primary aim behind the establishment of Vertex is to support government and the Private Sector to increase and diversify the export market portfolios, enhance global market competitiveness and strengthen Guyana’s international image through tourism and specialised service training industry, Thompson elaborated.
He said Vertex has already started significant engagement with most of the Private Sector organisations, including Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) and the Private Sector Commission (PSC).

Stronger relationships
In addition, it is working on building stronger relationships with the wider business community.
Vertex Vice-Chairman, Mr. Mohabir Lall said one of the projects that it is contemplating is a human resources train the trainer programme, where they would course persons from around the country who will then return to their respective villages and share their knowhow.
Mr. Jimmy Roos, a life coach working with the Vertex team on human resources development, said they will also foster more innovation and lead to increased productivity.
“We will work with entrepreneurs and businesses and transform their workforces by changing their beliefs, the way they think, the way they act, the way they interrelate and interact with others and, what this will do is create a more harmonious workplace,” he said.
