Private Sector Commission meets with APNU on range of issues – including 2013 national budget

MEMBERS of the Private Sector Commission (PSC) yesterday met with representatives of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) in what was described as a very amicable meeting with the two sides reportedly discussing a wide range of issues including the relationship between the two organisations, the upcoming 2013 national budget, matters pertaining to the Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice Region (Region 10) and the status of that region’s agreement with the government.

altThe meeting took place at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, Hadfield Street, Georgetown.
According to a statement from APNU, the representatives on both sides agreed to meet more frequently (at least once every quarter) and even more regularly when the situation demanded.
APNU said this was the first meeting of the year between the two groups, with the next meeting scheduled for next week Wednesday. It said this meeting will deal primarily with the budget and both sides will have more representatives in attendance.
Representing APNU at yesterday’s meeting were Opposition Leader David Granger, Joseph Harmon, and Lance Carbury. The PSC representatives were Ron Webster, (President), Ramesh Dookhoo, John Willems and Elizabeth Alleyne
