In Essequibo… Man commits suicide after catching wife watching ‘blues’

A 42-year-old Overseer, Roy Jones, who was attached to the Queenstown Neighbourhood Democratic Council  (NDC) on the Essequibo Coast has committed suicide on Monday.

Reports said the man ended his life in a very tragic manner after he allegedly discovered his wife watching an adult ‘X-rated’ film [blues] when he returned from work.
The discovery by the husband reportedly caused a serious quarrel between the couple, and resulted in the husband mixing several different poison which he drank while in a rage. He was rushed to the Suddie Hospital but died on arrival.
The deceased overseer has left to mourn his wife, two children and other relatives. Only last Thursday, a 49-year-old mother of five children, Nandranie Narine known as ‘Nalini’ drank a quantity of grammoxone poison with Guinness after a quarrel between herself and husband and died Saturday at the Charity Hospital.
Reports said another young woman of Charity, who also drank grammoxone poison after domestic problems last week, escaped death. Reports said nurses at the hospital took her to see ‘Nalini’, who was struggling for life after drinking poison so that she would not attempt it again.
