CLAIRMONT Wright, of Lot 2269 Osama Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was ordered to post $1M bail yesterday following a petition to Justice Roxanne George in the Berbice High Court.
He is facing two counts of fraudulent conversion which said the 25-year-old taxi driver, on March 23, 2012, being a bailee of a ‘Toyota Spacio’ motor car valued $2,650,000, a ‘Toyota Fielder’ wagon priced at $2,300,000 and one new model ‘Toyota Raum’ with a value of $2,500,000, fraudulently converted them to his own use and benefit.
The vehicles were owned by Vinode Pillay.
Wright, who faced a joint charge with his father, Conrad Wright called ‘Blackie’ and ‘Ring leader’ and Robert Underwood, is also charged with being a bailee, and on March 26, 2012, he converted a ‘Toyota Spacio’ valued $2,650,000 to his own use and benefit, although that vehicle also belonged to Vinode Pillay.
