Veteran Caribbean journalist awarded prestigious Canadian international trade designation

GUYANESE consultant and trainer, Sandra Ann Baptiste, was recently awarded the prestigious Canadian Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation. The Ottawa-based Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), which grants the designation on the basis of  international trade qualifications and experience, noted that the CITP is the highest level of professional accreditation available to business professionals in Canada.
FITT, a not-for-profit organisation established by Canadian industry and government, develops international business programmes, sets competency standards, and designs certification and accreditation programmes.
Its strategic partners include the Canadian Export Development Corporation; the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association; the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Bank of Nova Scotia.
“The CITP designation is a mark of excellence in international trade. It officially recognises the professional competencies held by international trade professionals, and the standards it embodies are bringing accountability and recognition to the highest levels of skills and knowledge required for success in global markets,” said President of FITT, Caroline Tompkins.
